Pedro Friedeberg - Time Space Existence

Pedro Friedeberg (Florence, Italy, 1936). Lives and works in Mexico City, Mexico. He is a visual artist and designer mostly known for his Hand chair. For this sculpture and design piece he has been the linked to the surrealist movement. His work is highly influenced by architecture and an obsessive sense of perspective, acquired during a lifelong exploration of all historical styles. His development as an artist is a result of his opposition to the Bauhaus Neufert and Functionalist philosophies and lifestyles. Contrary to Hans Poelzig´s Ornament is crime school of thought; he underlines the importance of antifunctionalism as a mean to reach a depth of the senses and a more natural way to live and experience space and architecture.
